If you book return flight from Cyprus, is it the same price as return flight from UK? Looked at Monarch and flights from Cyprus/Luton £87.46 each way. If book one way from Cyprus £87.46, then one way from Luton its £57.21, so you save nearly £30 by booking them seperate. (This is for January 09)

Hi Tony, Robbie, Mrs HH,

Msg 6

Manchester with Pegasus sorry not to my knowledge neither from Birmingham

Msg 7

I have made two bookings on Pegasus today from Ercan to Stansted and it was the same as the other way would have been.

It depends on what seats are available - try me i will happily hold an option.

Msg 8

If you have their full details email me or call (we will call you back if needed) I can hold an option for them at the best price - every hour could make a difference. There is no obligation to buy or charge when we take an option.

The same applies to Pegasus, CTA, Turkish, Atlas, BA, Cyprus Airlines, Onur, Sun Express, Emirates etc. All the above offer scheduled services but often you are buying "charter" seats on them so beware!

I can only offer the following thoughts regarding "UK purchases".

If you pay the airline direct then you have no cover unless you are using a credit card with the c/c you have cover for purchases over £100.

If you buy from an agent who is taking your money they should be ATOL bonded in the UK which safeguards you.

The main reason for ATOL bonding was and is to get you home to the UK.

The ATOL scheme is important when you use a charter ticket as you then are buying from a "sub contractor".

On a point of an alternative safeguard.

There is no current SAF that is available to direct clients although my company is trying to negotiate terms for Scheduled Airline Failure insurance to be bought from our web site. Since the failure of XL the rates have jumped

i would have thought the price of flights with pegasus may have an effect on other carriers to compete.

Just booked 2 flights for July. £284 for the two, well pleased with that, would have expected to pay almost that for 1 flight with CTA.

Cooper - I have had clients who did not give me names for two hours and the total - 3 bookings (peak season for 7 travellers) went from £1541 to £1621 when they gave me the passenger details

As the lead client said still a very good price but she was sorry that she had not let me hold the option.

The airlines do not make money out of cheap seats but it helps to pay for the flight so they only offer a few.

Really impressed with Tom at Flightholidays - only a few minutes after I sent an Email form enquiry off to enquire about flights he phoned me to discuss details. Ok, you might say, but this was 9.00 pm - way beyond the call of duty.

The price was very good as well.

Thanks Peeky

It was 19.00 in the UK where we work from though.

If I am right and your flights are April 20 then I am just confirming them
