I've been here a couple of months, settling in nicely.I had to write this:

It's 6.30 in the evening, went outside for some mint.lamb chopsin the oven

It is warm,17deg,calm,crickets making a noise, dogs in the distance barking, stars shining brightly in the sky.then a shooting star!!

I took a glass of wine out, pool had been cleaned today, belidiye water in the tank, electricity hardly ever goes off, sweet peas a foot high, potatoes coming through, peas podding, bananas nearly ready, bloody hell it's lovely here.

I just hope I continue to enjoy moments like that, and never take for granted.

Thank you God/Allah for allowing me to be here

Sorry everyone but Flossie one of our members has a Son out in Mumbia, and is keeping everyone informed on my thread "Is the news its own worst enemy"

She is obviously upset, so I'm going to try and keep my thread up top, can we all show our support

Thanks

Flossie - is your son OK?

Mikelapta that sounds lovely. You want to hear my story - kids shouting over remote control - Ceebeebies on full blast, dog pestering me for a walk, phone ringing, dinner in the oven.......but that's best of all I have just poured myself a vodka cranberry on ice! Yummy - first one of the week! Have a nice evening everyone

Firestarter - Mike doesn't need rose coloured glasses - his eyes are naturally bloodshot!

Mike - sweet peas? many more posts like that and I give you sweat peas when I get there!! (as my old ma ussd to say). You've just driven me to a large vodka & tonic with your talk of how nice it is there - some of us are freezing to death back here!

by the way - are my bananas ready? or have they all been eaten by the neighbours?

Hi mikelapta,

I got goosebumps reading your post and then I closed my eyes and imagined I was there. I was sitting on my terrace looking at the stars and drinking a glass of red wine. Cyprus is gods own country and I can't wait for us to retire there.

Keep on enjoying your new life there.
