| The source code of a central computer used to recognise and arm the F16 usable arms has always been in the monopoly of USA. That meant that any country who bought standard F16s had to use whatever bombs or rockets were recognised by this computer. Turkey has now been granted the source code to use whatever they may produce locally to arm up the F16s (they are currently manufacturing themselves). That means they no longer have to ask for USA for permission or "source code" to modernise their arms capabilities. Turkish Air Force has the largest number of F16s at her disposal after USA - with the addition of 30 (the latest) F16C, the air force will be operating with 280 F16s... |

| and.....it is possible now (subject to any restriction in the code release) for Turkey to supply F16 armament to other F16 users (who may be contractually free to use the modified armament control system). |
