Is there an air show for the end of Byram 2,jets are flying over town at the moment

not in the usual livery of the All Stars(red & white) dark coloured,or is the Turkish Air Force

showing of some new toys ?

They were F-16's of the Turkish Air force......but don't know what it was about...they are not new toys, the F-35's due next year are the "Real Deal"...With Syria kicking off, a welcome sight to be sure...

Although they where quite low ,wasn't able to make out any national markings on them.

Although I did not see them, it is possible that these aircraft are the new Turkish Airforce dispaly team 'Solo Turk' that caused such a stir at Fairford this year. If so they are indeed F16's and are painted black /silver and with an eagle on the nosecone. There are just two aircraft in the team, check out their website for more details and some awesome photographs.

You are probably correct in assuming the F16's were a part of the Solo Turk team...Normal figter F16's do not manouver over towns,flying low altitude..

Just checked their website if they are scheduled for a display in Cyprus but according to their website they are not...who knows they might make a surprise..My guess is they might display a show on the 15th..

For those who do not know..Pilot Murat Keleş of the Solo Turk team was honoured at the Royal International Air Tattoo 2011 with the highest award, the King Hussein Memorial Sword for the Best Overall Flying Demonstration..

No so sure about that. They will normally carry out a recon flight the day before their display as a lot can change in the flight area in a few days.

It was reported in Suturdays cyprus today its solo turk at 3.30 and the Ottoman marching band at 4pm near dome hotel. Pity about the weather.

We didn't take our grandson to Girne, so unfortunately he missed it. However, we were having a snack in

Uppercrust and saw some of it.

The show in Lefkoşa was cancelled... The Girne show was not, so it was a bit misleading of Sunny Cyprus.
