KennyB go to http://www.windguru.cz and ask for Kyrenia. This site gives a pretty good idea of what the weather is all about and gives advanced weather predictions.

Hi, My best friend lives in Tenerife and by what she says the weather is pretty much the same as Cyprus, warm during the day but when the sun goes down chilly. She lives in the mountains and so it gets damp as well. You can sit on her terrace and watch the planes landing and taking off at the airport but you can't hear them. I quite like Tenerife but hubby hates it and we wouldn't swap it for our bungalow in Esentepe.

Hi Cypfan, Tenerife never gets as hot as Cyprus in the summer. It is in the Atlantic and daytime temperatures are between 70-85 farenhiet all year round (can't get my head around centigrade) but in the winter, evenings can be chilly. Many years ago when I worked for Thomas Cook we used to sell it as a winter destination guaranteed to get a sun tan. The Butlers wife

Thanks TBW msg 8. I remember Tenerife being very hot in winter. Wish the extra heat in Cyprus July/August could be spread over January and February, then it would be perfect.

For the last 5 years have spent xmas and new year in lanzarote [2 weeks] weather has been very good, very warm during the days, temp stays more or less constant over 24 hours, walking back from bar at midnight a t shirt or light jumper is all you need. Last 2 years have had lots of sun every day of the holiday with nice warm evenings.
