ok thats big i take it this is not a wind up my honest opinion is i dont think u will have enough high end customers most expats seem poor and the type of clients u want do come the trnc but they only stay in the hotel and casino if you can tap onto them maybe but also

1. theres already a good perfume shop in kyrenia

2.there are several electronic outlets with the brands you have mentioned

3.watches etc will be bought by casino rollers and they will buy them at home or airports

4.high end wines -what about the gap in the middle better than lemar but not too expensive thats the market

5.cigars - they give those cigars out free in the casinos

6. no idea on antiques

master of everything master of nothing !

'most expats seem poor'

And on what information do you base that hypothesis on?

I think its a great idea, just because reuntj frequents the China bazaar doesn't mean all of us do.

You should include a 'deli counter' and don't forget the barbours and green wellies.

Will you give certificates of authenticity, if so, best of luck with your venture ?

i have never been the china bazar or whatever its called my comment of most expats seem poor is my general feeling from what i have read on this site mostly people moaning about the price of bills drinks etc etc also looking at the property prices the cars people drive and their general attire its hardly beverley hills .i have had a rolex and cartier watch but stopped wearing them as i dont like jewelry .i have drank and paid for crystal dom perignon on many occasions.my electronics i buy are apple i pad samsung etc.i always buy expensive perfume channel dior etc.i am giving my opinion as i dont thing such a shop is currently a viable business because of the demographics.why dont you take the range that you think will do the best for eg watches or fine wines and try opening a shop to see if it is successful first and then expand. that way you wont lose so much money if it there isnt the demand.i hope i am wrong as the shop can only be a benefit to me.

thnx ifoggy ,

Thnx Hippo , we beleive there is a fair percentage of wealthy to rich among expats , locals & others , this is our target group ,

We will have an F & B section , with specialized offerings . barbour is another brand we have access to !

Swvflot , Yes offcourse all our products are genuine and will have certificates of authenticity

PMF68 , well observed . We will have many greatly discounted offerings where possible , apart from certain items which are not possible . Some brands are impossible however , like Louis Vuttion prices will be same as LV store in UK , Most other brands will have discounts , Our electronics all will be discounted . Speciality products will be at market price

so when is it open and good luck, you will always get negaitve comments on here often from jealous people or others who want you to fail......ignore them provide a quality service good prices although one doesnt go to harrods for three rolexes for the price of two. Most people who own Rolexes have fakes anyway probably also where football shirts in the street probably not the clients you are looking for...

Hippo saw you coming out of pound shop with reading glasses, did't get rich by buying fancy wine and cigars.

Most of the expats are still looking for happy hour.

Not if the prices are similar to the new shoe shop on the main road opposite Creditwest. I asked how much for a pair of mens shoes in the window, answer: From £450 ouch!!!! They are hand made apparently and the owner has a shop in London, there you go then, London prices.

Sounds like a good idea but not sure about the location. I would have thought you would reach more of a market being located in central Kyrenia. One thing I would like to say is in my experience Europeans do not like to be followed round a shop by assistants so it would be nice if we could browse your quality products without being made to feel as if you think we may steal something. I hope you understand what I mean and don't take this the wrong way!

Rowlo i do live on less than 200 per month luxury goods with authenticity certificates..well forgive me if im wrong but i cant really see Rolex having an outlet store here, as for Turkish antiques it is illegal to transport or sell them on..having said that , i would love a new shop, therefore i wish you all the best in your venture, some shamballa bracelets would be nice fake or real i dont care either way im not a label freak, TC's are you main target i would imagine

ps.msge 31...clothes for women with boobs would be great !!!

It's illegal to buy, sell, possess or—especially—export from Turkey antiquities (usually defined as carpets, coins, icons, colored tiles and ceramics, paintings, statues and sculptures, metal objects, etc.) more than one or two centuries old (ie, older than antiques.)

Penalties are stiff, and usually include a prison sentence for serious offenses.

Extract from Turkish antiquities law. Legally import ? hmmm , good luck .

be very careful Mezzo.i really hope you do well. . Can i ask what a grey market is? im not being perdantic just that i really dont know.

Get some Shamballa stuff, best wishes for your opening , i hope its all good stuff,i will be sure to visit

Good luck, but I doubt you will find many customers for those kind of products. First of all everything is more expensive on the island so if I was about to buy Rolex, or Gucci I would buy it cheaper from mainland, same goes to other products (electronics i.e).

As someone says before here, there are already shops with those kind of stuff not even in Kyrenia but also in Lefkosa and Famagusta.

It will be hard what I say but , most of tourists are coming here to buy fake brands (its illegal though) in Lefkosa old town just because products (even though) they are fake, they look like originals and of course price is even 80% cheaper than original.

About antiquities someone already said - its illegal to sell such things without both governments authorizations and I doubt that someone will give you. If I were you I should really check what you can sell it - you don't want to spend years in Turkish prison, do you?
