My family run this race every year too spider, a very good cause. Tesco (according to the ones who run) is the cancer and there is NO cure for that as government keep letting them sprout up all over the country to the detriment of small shops - steer clear of them.

We are free to shop although I offer small shops here too and at home every support each day shopping. Cancer gives no choice. And need all the support from big money makers to help with research. I hope Tesco feel the drop in shoppers because of this.. Spider,X

Spider, I, too, was shocked when I read this article this morning. If they want to change causes why, oh why can they not choose something that will utimately benefit all of us.

Martin It certainly could be interpreted as a racist remark, glad you have clarified. Perhaps you could emphasize the point with a condemnation of Racism? Just a thought H

@ msg 12, Harold: Clarification..?! MartinD41 repeats his previous post but now adds "a researched discovery" - it's still racist and I protest his posts. If, Harold, in your opinion his remarks belong to the "freedom of speech" on this board, then in the same spirit I take the liberty to call him a disgusting racist.

My freedom of speech contribution could be a remark about the ineptitude of so called forum admin to deal with the issue succinctly.

I do not understand.....what has Jewishness got to do with the Tesco article today? It may be that I am a bit thick but not seeing the connection. Anyway, cancer is no respecter of race, creed or colour so it is not relevant.

| Martin I am afraid it does, not all racism has to be to denigrate the members of the human race that you pick out. To classify the skillset that one racial/religous grouping posseses purely on account of their race or religion is racist. Of itself it may not be hateful but it is the building block on which hateful racism is constructed. Nowhere is this more evident than with the Jewish race. Lies told by the racists of Nazi Germany could only take root due to an underlying low level anti semitism prevalent amongst many of the population (both of Germany and other nations) On remembrance weekend we should be aware that if history teaches us anything it is not to be politically correct but to be vigilant and on guard against the conditions that allowed the awful war crimes and indeed the second World War to happen.
