Ever since Mr Ted was a cute little pup, he has always had a poop immediately after eating his dinner...however, today it is pouring with rain, and after eating, he went out for his usual poop...he stood under the stoop for a little while, but couldn't quite bring himself to go outside to squat in the rain. Eventually, after contemplating the rain for a few mins, he dared to venture out, except the other (quite funny) thing is, he can't go when you watch him, (i was standing at the door waiting for him to come back inside) so another few minutes went by, and he decided to 'go' under the spiral staircase, where he was in reletative secrecy and somewhat protected from the rain.....then the little sod, came bombing back inside, jumped on my bed and proceeded to roll around on my nice clean covers to dry himself! PRICELESS!! If i didn't love him so much i would have battered him to hell....instead i almost laughed myself into a coma!! God love him!! xx DD

Thats part of the joy of owning dogs , Daisy,, They always want to share EVERYTHING with you. Mine have just been forcibly ejected during - at last - a brief lull in the downpour and I am sure are going to report me for cruelty. The funniest thing I saw with dogs and rain was one which whenever let out at the back door when it was raining, regarded me with great disappointment and then promptly demanded to be let out the front instead - presumably under the impression the weather might be better outside a different door!

aaaah, Bizzi lizzi...i couldn't agree more! They may at times drive you completely potty, but the joy part far outweighs the naughtiness! I wouldn't be without them for all the tea in China! DD

Indeed Daisy: but its a bit difficult this weather, nothing for them to do and the Devil finds work for idle paws! Bit upsetting though because the little old terrier is terrified of loud bangs (I suspect some traumatic experience in the three years before she was rescued) and hadnt been long emerged from shivering under the bed because of the air display, when the thunder started and she dived back under again! Now the storm seems to have passed the spaniel,on the other hand, is suggesting walkies! All right for him with build it waterproofing!

sorry to flag the hygiene card, and I do love dogs, but the thought of letting a dog roll round my bed after he's just emptied his bowels , frankly makes me feel quite sick- ewwwww.

I have one that when it is time to go outside last thing, makes herself as heavy as possible on the floor and we literally have to pick her up and put her down outside and shut the door quickly, when she comes back in she is ready for a game...... Little madam.

we have a springer spaniel 5 months old, he tells us when he has done the poop and takes us to it . As regards the drying themselves, he gets on a towel if we put one down for him........ Being a springer he has to dive into wter whenever we go out, abd we have to then bath him...Love the cow clap. Oh and now we are back in uk
