just returned from 2wk holiday, went to the paradise bar on friday 12th oct. asked the owner if he was showing the rugby league grand final? he said yes he would show it, we were the only people in there he had a drink with us seemed quite friendly, so we decided to make a day of it on the saterday watch englands soccer qualifier, then the rugby league, followed by england rugby union, when we arrived it was full we watched the soccer, he put the rugby on then with 15 mins to go he just switched it over to the preview of the rugby union which still had 30mins before ko we ask him why he just said we are watching the build up now go outside and watch it there,my wife asked if he would change her drink his reply was i did not make and walked away,his attitude towards our party was disgusting, as to say we found somewhere else to watch the other games shakers bar, and was made quite welcome, both my brother and his wife and my wife and myself have bought properties in nc but this man will never get another penny out of us wonder if anybody else has had any dealings with this man?

I have met a few rude publicans in my time, usually drink to much and have a low tolerance towards customers demands.



Maybe he did not have much between his posts!



Reason for the drink change? was the glass chipped etc????

no it was a brandy sour it was very weak and tasted awful, at the end of the night my wife asked for a packet of cigs he tried to sell them for 10 lira when you can buy them for 4.50 lira people in there said when he has a full pub he puts his prices up,sorry not for me.

yeh thats were it comes from raybo,and i had the pleasure to see him play.i remember the day when he signed for rovers,i was playing on a field at the bottom of our street at touch rugby with mike crane and my dad came running towards us to tell us that he had signed for £6,000 from castleford,i believe that was1966.

I can assure you I will not be spending any of my hard earned lager vouchers in there.



It seems to be that a some of these places that are well frequented, fall foul to greedy landlords/owners who have no conscious when it comes to taking peoples money. One attitude is that they feel most people are on holiday and have a few bob and can take it or leave it. Where was he from???



That's why this forum works with people giving the good and bad on places to go etc.



Hopefully we are going to be over in the spring and will visit some of the places that have been given a good rating and will pass by the others.



You never know we may meet some of the forum users!

all i can say these kind of people a few and far between in north cyprus,

there is good and bad in any country even in the u.k especially where i used to live in london

the best thing is dont let this affect you and your family-friends view on this lovely place (mean n cyprus) even thou the owner was a idiot (probably lost all his money the night before or his wife has left)

hi uk turk, dodger, and all, very busy eating pub plus we have many young people who are locals who come in just to drink, saturdays we have a band on get up to 250 people in, sundays quiz night, we can have as many as 80 to 100 in for it, and i try to treat everyone the way i would want to be treat,after all these people are our livelyhood. manners cost nothing!!! raybo.

hi all, just to put people in the picture, apparently the paradise inn bar owner has been saying on another web site TRNC VILLA OWNERS that wat i have said was incorrect, not seen the site yet but was told by one of my family who has seen it, everything i have posted about him and his attitude was correct,wish he would reply on this site!!!,raybo.

lived in cyprus 4 years paradise bar is not well liked due to prices,its the only bar in the erea that charges to use the pool,typical greedy cyprus people.

Hi All,

I'm an ex customer of the Paradise, I got cheesed off with the two tear pricing the manager has, one price for regulars(if he has any) and double the price for tourists, then add more if the footballs on. Why he just cant put a price list up and charge everyone the same God only knows. Plenty of better places to watch sport, so spread the word, keep out of the place, and let the miserable sod suffer.

We went to the Paradise, to watch the Mancfc Game, his prices are listed on the Bar, Stop giving wrong info. His prices are really Good.Drank Large Glasses of Gin & Tonic all Night, for only 5.00 ytl. Do yourself a favour go down and meet this Owner, he will do anything to help you, especially when someone is watching a Game on 1 Screen, he would be prepared to show anouther sport on the Second Screen.

The Paradise Bar is the first place were we go to watch Sport once we arrive in Cyprus on our Holidays. We have now become very friendly with the Owner, he always buys us Free Drinks, and always remembers are Names.

He even is prepared to show Sports at 5.00 am in the morning, We watched the Hatton Fight there. He had plenty of Customers Even at 05.00 am in the morning.

The Paradise has Price Lists up.It is on the Bar. Do yourself a Favour go down their, and check the Bar before you write wrong info to members on this Forum.

Its been over a year since I was in the place and no prices were to be seen then, I asked Grumpy why I was charged different prices for the same beer on two different visits to the bar and asked to see a list which he did'nt have.

So as Nige said, I voted with my feet.

Angel & Mancfc, you may have caught him on a good week, must have taken his medication or managed to fleece a couple of unsuspecting tourists.

But i found this place clean and very hospitable and all Food and Drink prices are Listed on the Bar. Very Resonable Prices. As i said we were Drinking Large Gin & Tonics all night for 5.00 ytl, plus Free Crisps and Nuts. It looks like the Medication worked, he was very busy that Night. Everyone was a Local, i will definetly use it again and reccomend this place to all My friends.

We visted the Paradise again today, to watch the Formula 1, it was packed. Everyone was a regular who lived on the Island, We checked the prices, his prices were very good, all spirits with mixer for only 5.00 ytl in a Large Glass.



Robo. Stop giving false info on this Notice board. As you have posted a message on the 20/10/07 and reopening again on the 18/07/08, so it looks like you are either a nearby Bar Owner and so jealous that the Owners of Paradise has plenty of Customers.



Spoke to the Owner, told him about this Notice board and he said he has the Powers to drop all his Drinks to 50p a Glass so beware.

Hi i am Dave. Been to the Paradise many times, i always sit at the Bar. One hand My Efes Glass, the other hand a bottle of Efes, and straight in front of Me at the Bar is the BAR PRICES.

Looking at the Bar Prices, they are NORMAL, REASONABLE. I have to stay he does get a good crowd in their when the Sport is on, and plenty of same old faces. It is like a club, everone nows one anouther.

What i like about the Paradise is the picture quality on his 60 inch HD Pioneer Plasma T.V. Thats first class.

The staff are very friendly and very helpful.
