Having been fans of the "Old Patina" and having heard bad reports since it re-opened under a new banner we tried it tonight.

The new enclosed terrace dining area was lovely and well heated.

The food was amazing, and so much of it!

Atmosphere and music lovely, very busy for a mid week night.

Staff unobtrusively efficient.

All great except the manager allowed other tables to smoke in the restaurant.

OK if you smoke, we don't!

The Law says?!

Moved to the empty bar for coffee to escape smokers.

Told dessert was to come.

Declined dessert as we were full.

Asked why smoking was allowed in the restaurant; we were told other tables had asked if they could smoke and as we had finished eating, not true as the dessert was still to come, he said yes they could!

Cream ceiling drapes will soon yellow!

Pointed out he was the manager so he could/should have said no.

He apologised and said they will get a smoking area.

He said it wouldn't happen again.

Point is it should it have

they will save on the drapes , no need to buy yellow ones next year , and people like you complaining about smokers , will soon close the business down , get a life , people do like a smoke after dinner , but not while people are still eating , so no harm done .

rowlo :-(

As part of Oscar's I can't see it closing!

Wanderer, we were using a firstatkibris meal deal. Everyone seemed to be eating the same menu.

Cold meze with 20 very fresh dishes.

Hot meze 5 lovely foods.

Salad and bread.

Six meats, liver and onions, roasted quail, lamb shish, chicken shish, lamb chop and kofta.

Fruit platter.

Ice cream and semolina.

Coffee.

We had paid half price with the voucher which also included one drink each.

We had paid 55TL per couple instead of 110TL for the food.

We drank a bottle of white wine and the men had 2 beers each and 3 glasses of red wine between them.

For that, with the free drinks with the offer deducted, it came to a total of 55TL.

Excellent food, excellent value.

Great music with a Turkish trio, very jolly

Impressed with the new downstairs restaurant, just a shame about the smoke! Which I know won't bother all but we do have a right to choose not to smoke but also the right, under the law, not to be passive smo

Will definitely try it and if anyone is smoking will complain, we have a life and would prefer to keep it that way without breathing in filthy cigarette smoke and come home smelling of a dirty ash tray, thanks for the info
