Every night for the past three days my UPS has started to complain that the voltage is not enough to stop the drain (power in does not match power out) and I have to switch it all off - it's normally on 24/7 so we can download viewing stuff overnight - this is the reduced output of only the wireless connection and my computer (no screen and no speakers etc.). At about 11pm this dip in power seems to occur and then in the morning at approx 7am it's back up.

If we try to power on too early the UPS is still beeping for low power input. e.g. at 6:30 it's still low.

So the question is... are Kibtek deliberately reducing overnight voltage to lower their running costs?

Or is there some other cause?

I reckon with this cold weather ,come the evening when lights go on as well as heaters, the Gerbils on the tread mills are becoming knackered by tea time and the Unions won't allow any extra "Volunteer" work force ..

If you ask Kibtek nicely they will fit temporarily a pen recorder that records the voltage over the 24 hour period.

Just complain about low voltage.

I cannot remember where you are located but I have a plug in device that constantly monitors mains voltage although it has no recording facility. You are more than welcome to borrow it for a week or two.

AJ Thanks for the offer. My UPS can tell me the voltage, it can connect to the PC via USB and using software provided with the unit record the input voltage, sine wave etc.

I just wondered if the voltage drop was deliberate... also as it happens so late (coming up to midnight, when most people are tucked-up for the night) I don't think it's high consumer usage causing the problem.

I am presuming you are hooked up to one phase of a 3 phase supply. Without knowing how many other villas/apartments are hooked up to the same phase as you makes it difficult to analyze the problem.

What does your UPS show in AC volts as being under voltage?
