Sazna I had ganglion cyst on my wrist for many years and that just went away on its own.If as you say it is getting painful then I would think that surgery might be needed, Sanza you could try hitting it with a bible...just an old wives tale !! Hope all goes well for you viper

Ouch! Sympathy - they can be extremely painful. Cheshire Homes have a Consultant Physiotherapist and a Physiotherapist who may be consulted by the general public. If they cant help they could point you in right direction. Near Bellapaise roundabout - phone 815 3767 (9am to 3pm)

I had my elbow operated on for something similar out here and can recommend a good doctor who will do it in his own theater in Girne. Drop me a line if you want to be put in touch with him. elkin_tony@yahoo.co.uk best regards tonyE

Sazna ...my wife had one for several years and eventually had to have it done.It was ok for awhile but it came back.not as large as the original one and she did what one other poster says and whacked it with a thick hard backed book.Hurt like hell but it did go away eventually. This happened when she was in her nappy washing younger days and not having a washer or spinner had to wring them out by hand.Happy ending though, got her a spinner and the lump has not come back. PS..no more kids no more nappies

Sazna I had a really bad one years ago in the UK which was treated by injection (v. painful). It came back but smaller, and so far have been able to deal with it by hard pressure with a thumb. However with a big longstanding one, better to get deal with professionally. If you use CH let me know how you get on, and if you need any help - the receptionist/secretary speaks reasonable English.

I had one on my foot. I had it removed by an orthopedic surgeon at the Yesam hospital in Famagusta. Unfortunately, it has grew back again. Every 18-24 months I go to Dr Ilker in Nicosia Tel: 0533 866 2163. He has a clinic near to the back of the General hospital during the afternoons. He is in the rehabilitation clinic for injuries in the mornings. He gives a quick shot of local and then removes any fluid he can with a syringe. Then gives me a shot of painkiller which lasts until I go again!
