Hi Paul

It will be interesting to see if Noble pull out altogether, they were given the license as opposed to paying money for it (no one else was interested in bidding) and it looks as though from your link that the ROC was hoping that Noble would provide them with a 'get out of jail' scenario.

Noble have more pressing contracts that they will need to take care of sooner or later. So lets see what will happen.

Will Christophias end up with egg on his face and stand down? I will not make any predictions now but I do know that the ROC government is paying Noble to carry on with their test drilling rather than Noble funding it themselves and then taking a cut of any future revenues.

Oh I forgot to add that the cost of running a fully manned drilling rig (don't forget the logistics of helicopter crew transfers/supply boats and standby support vessels) will run out at over $500,000 a day. In fact I reckon it is going to be closer to the million dollar mark. Now that is big 'egg on your face' if it all goes wrong.

Paul

There are hydrocarbons everywhere on this planet even in the Med but it all boils down to how easy they are to extract and if needed the costs of processing. The North sea oil and gas fields are in decline and there have been a lot of smaller operators that have bought platforms and fields from the larger operators with the reason being is that the likes of Shell/BP etc cannot justify the cost's involved in extracting and processing the diminishing supplies.

I hope there will be plenty of gas that will benefit both of the island. Remember that EU and USA have stated TCs should also have a share in Cyprus' natural resources. Even if it means having gas supplies for heating and cooking for the next 50 years or more - cheaper than what we are currently paying, using electricity - it must be good, as long as North Cyprus also gets its share. That being the case, ıt really does not bother me if the Greek Cypriots end up economically strong or dollar millioneers!

A balanced view msg9

but I guess you are a Cypriot

not someone who has bought "exchange" land

Who have opinions and views that suit their needs

Nice to see a positive comment.

philbailey some people with agendas are open and honest as to who they are and what their status is, so their comments can be placed in context and agendas judged accordingly and others with agendas hide who they are and what their status is with the specific intent of pushing a specific agenda whilst trying hide the context of who they are, what they have posted in the past and what their staus and interest in cyprus.

I would estimate that it is 70-80% likely that you are in fact the same poster that has used countless aliases on this forum an others for more than 10 years now in order to push your agenda on cyprus while seeking to hide who you are and what you have said before under other aliases.

erolz; you really must try and cut the waffle and come straight to the point "gardaş"! It hurts my brains to read all that at this time of the night

We are all "aliases" here, just like any other public forum in any other country in the world. Internet communications by participants, who do not know each other in real life, have a good reason to be in this form. As far as I am concerned, forums are to interact and exchange ideas, opinions, news etc. with other participants - who need not have to agree with these ideas, opinions or whatever...

If someone gets turned on by having more than one alias, then... Who cares?

In fact, this forum should go in the Guiness book of records as the only forum where most of the participants also know each other in real life - very unusual indeed...

bigOz it is not that obtuse really.

There is an indivdual, Campbell Thomas, who for over 10 years now has been using forums like this one and others under a sucsession of aliases to push a specific agenda re Cyprus. Deceit and concelament of not just his actual identity but also of the connection between the multiple aliases they use is an intergral part of how push this agenda whilst pretending no such agenda exists. Deciet is at the core of their meathod. I personally think it is more likely than not that the poster philbailey is just the latest in this long line of aliases used by this person to push this agenda in a manner that requires such deception and deceit and am saying so in response to philbailey's allusions to other posters having 'agendas' for their own benefit.

We all have agendas. Some are open and honest and others actively and persistently use deciet over a decade or more to 'push' these agendas. I strongly suspect philbailey is in the later but I may be wrong.
