A friend asked me to help with buying an apartment and I changed almost all the essential paragraps. In the final version the price came down from 170,000 TL to 130,000 TL. Here are the main conditions: 1. 50,000 TL deposit will be paid to the developer after the agreement has been signed and lodged with the Tapu without any encumbrance. This went smoothly today. 2. The keys will be given to the buyer within 12 months, otherwise subject to late penalty and/or reasonable rent for 500 TL per month payable at the end of every month. 3. VAT and transfer fee to be paid by the buyer, all infrastucture for telephone, water and electricity to be paid by the vendor. The buyer will pay only for the metre connections and his share of the electricity connection to the stairs and the lift. 4. The remaining 75,000 TL to be paid by the buyer to the vendor when the title deed for the flat is ready for transfer. VAT will be paid at the time of the transfer of title. How is that for a deal? ismet

Groucho, What you say is true but most pay all the money when they get the keys and then wait and wait for the title deeds. So it helps if you keep back most of the money until title deeds. ismet

Ismet, 50,000 TL + 75,000 TL = 125,000 TL An even better deal than you thought for a 130,000TL property!

Groucho, A very valid point, hence you should always buy from a company with a good record. Ozbey, Well spotted. We are going to pay the remaining 5000 TL in some other way rather than cash. ismet

"A very valid point, hence you should always buy from a company with a good record." I've got an old Matt Munro one... that's pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_z8aLdIejPs
