I had deposited £20 in my Skype account for occasional calls to landlines/mobiles but in fact I didn't use much of it. Now I look and they have taken the remaining £19 odd because I didn't use it. My question is: if I deposit some more will they return the original balance (as Turkvcell do if you don't use your mobile)? That said I think it is a bloody cheek to just take money in such a way, although I admit that if I had read the terms and conditions I would have expected it.

They should have emailed you to let you know to the expiry date was looming then you could have sent a text to someone. You can kiss goodbye to the £19 unless you are prepared to argue to the toss with them.

In my experience skype give many warnings of an account closure. They also state how one can keep the account live, ie by just using it. If you did not receive such warnings they may re open your account with the full value remaining.

Sounds like you paid into the 12 months unlimited calls to any UK landline offer, if so no refunds apply if you do not use often.

Why not go into your Skype Account and there you should find the information as to your 'missing' cash. I don't think you could have purchased an unlimited deal as they are over £30 but if you look into you 'Calls Made' you may find the answer. In my case someone infiltrated my account and I lost only a few pounds, when they rang the rest of the world. I don't think Skype have a policy of closing an account if not used often, I have unlimited Europe and my balance remains constant for the whole year. Anyway have a look, you may find the answer. Good Luck

I have had the same £ balance for years. I have a package that includes unlimited calls to UK landlines and a SkypeIn number for £2.24 pcm. I keep a few quid on account in case I need to call a mobile....Never do!
