I bought a pack of 25 CDR's from Stormax a few weeks back. I went to use them today, only to find it must have been a bad batch, (as not one of them would work).

Took them back to the store, (I was after an exchange, not money back), and was told no receipt, no exchange. I would not normally keep receipts for anything that small......so asked to see the manager to explain. Girl behind the till went to find her, she was in the store but refused to come and speak with me !!

I was angry to say the least, and I won't be going back there. Even 'Mr Pound' will exchange faulty goods without a receipt. Whatever happened to, 'the customer is aways right' ????

The name of the CDR's is T.tec. Do not buy them from there . I will stick now to 'Mr Pound' or the supermarkets.

Also, I feel I have to add that the girl behind the till had exchanged a kettle the day before for a customer, without the receipt !!!! She told me that herself.

It was the manager who said no.

That to me is bad custom

Sounds as though they sell a few faulty goods, a lady in front of me a week ago was returning a deep fat fryer!

I have never heard that phrase "the customer is always right" in North Cyprus. EXCEPT Ileli.

Yes, she did, which was why I was standing in the queue for so long, they even checked out the new one they were giving her BUT I didn't notice whether she had a receipt or not. Sorry.

I have never had any problems with Stormax as some of my past postings and indeed others have verified. I would hasten to add the Manager is male and if you dealt with a female then she was the assistant manager.

I will continue to shop there as I have received nothing else but good service.

I concur with AJ, had a faulty garden chair at the start of the summer, was changed without question, no receipt shown, always had good service on the few times I have shopped there.

Let us be fair. If you buy something from a shop that is not readily available elsewhere, I expect them to change a faulty item without a receipt but if the item is easily available elsewhere, then a receipt is a necessity. I have no idea about this particular item.
