Yes, but don't hold your breath they not only change house numbers but they can give you a new street name.

Next question - as i am paying a monthly mortgage how will this effect things as i have been paying the company who built our house under our original number and now have a new number what proof do i have that they are one and the same, do i need to get papers from some government office or other ?

Don't change anything. I hope they wrote the new number on something removable. so after the census just remove it or if it is permanent erase it or cover it up with new paint.

Tut tut Elko! We not only had a change of number but change of street too. Are you really saying ignore it? "At the end of the month invoice addresses will be renewed", quoted from Alsancak Municipality 'Express'.

At one time the Census people used to write numbers on walls with spray paint. there was a big outcry about this and at next census they wrote the numbers on cardboards and stuck them on walls. It is a differemt matter if the new nuımbers are written by municipality workers rather than the temporary census people. I was referring to the work of the temporary census people.

Elko, we have had the municipality workers round our area putting the numbers on properties, these are the blue metal type and even the estate next to us, which has only two villas out of 39 occupied has been numbered 32/1 to 32/39.

Not only has our house changed from 22 to 72 but the street sign has also been removed and not replaced with another one, therefore we have no idea where we are living and more importantly does this affect our contract.

The house number is a metal one that has been nailed into the wall so not temporary.

The numbers on metal are permanent but rest assured your contract is as good as before, assuming its worth the paper its written on
