Turkish Minister Bağış said they want to see the establishment of a partnership state in Cyprus before July 2012. Turkey’s Minister for the European Union and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış has stressed that the Turkish Side’s major goal is the establishment of a partnership state in Cyprus before July 2012 which foresees the equal representation of the two sides on the island on the basis of political equality.
“Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will not be paying the price of the non-solution” Bağış said. |

In an interview to the Anatolian News Agency, Turkish EU Minister Bağış said that Turkey has alternative plans over the Cyprus in case the negotiations process ends in failure.
Bağış pointed out that the Turkish side wants to see the establishment of a partnership state in Cyprus before July 2012.
“We want this partnership state to take over the EU term-presidency. The partnership state will make significant contributions to Turkey-EU relations” the Turkish Minister went on saying. |
