The comments on the same story in the Cyprus Mail will show how the GCs feel about the offer:

Most seem to be along the lines of "Turkey must abide by the Ankara protocol. We will not allow direct flights as that would be tantamount to recognising the TRNC".

When will there be a strong indication on what is likely to happen, i thought i would be moving to the trnc and have at least five years before anything happened. Now its all up in the air, and obviously you cant move somewhere if you ant got a scooby.

I have to think of tax implications, residency issues, future laws that may effect ex pats. I know it cant last forever but the way things are now suit me well.

Yes it is, Paul, but it now has a few more comments. I am not aware of any official response, and would be surprised if there were one. This, of course, plays into Turkish hands by showing the GCs to be intransigent.
