| The Parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus convened for an extraordinary session on the course of the Cyprus negotiations yesterday. President Derviş Eroğlu briefed deputies on the Greentree summit and the latest stage reached in the negotiations process. President Derviş Eroğlu briefed parliamentarians on the course of the Cyprus talks and listened to the views of political parties with seats in parliament at an extraordinary session held yesterday. Following Eroğlu’s speech, political party leaders and representatives took the bench and expressed their views on the Cyprus solution process. |

| Social Democratic Party Leader Mehmet Çakıcı, Democrat Party Leader Serdar Denktaş and the Leader of the Democracy and Trust Party Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu did not attend the session. Speaking to reporters before leaving the Parliament, President Eroğlu said that he was happy with the outcome of the meeting. “There are some differing views with some political parties but there is consensus in general terms” the President noted. |
