Keep Cyprus slim! Hope you get a good response. Would like to come down with camera to get a story, but already am elsewhere. so keep me posted and if it is every week I can come and see you later. good luck. I wish people would realise how health and weight are closely connected. I learned the hard way. and I am glad you have not used the word 'diet'!

good luck.

Thants Marion

I agree with you, DIET is a nasty 4 letter word which we do not use.

Also Diets do not work and people feel restricted on them and crave foods which they are deprived of - on this plan you are not deprived and can eat as much as you like and never go hungry.

As you say Health & Weight are closely connected

Lost 6lbs and ate more than I normally would!! Can't be bad can it? It would be good to see some men attending meetings. The number of bums and tums hanging over bar stools and trouser tops is getting worse. Come on chaps, you know you want to. There's nothing attractive about a beer gut you know!! Don't be shy.

I applaude your efforts to start a group in NC, I joined my local SW in uk 10 months ago and have lost 4.5 st so far, and another guy there has lost 6 st, trouble is most guys think it a women thing going to slimming clubs, but ours is run by a guy.

Believe me guys there is nothing macho about contracting Diabetes, having a Heart attack, Liver failure,Cancer,Hip and Knee Failures nearly all caused by being overweight.

I can appreciate the problems you must have getting publications, I am over at end of March, if luggage allowance allows will bring some up todate recipe books, but they will have to be shared, good luck with your SW club

congratulations. I will be there with my camera and want some pics of the valiant folk who seem to be on a winner while losing.

So let's get some publicity out there and get the men to realise that if they are slimmer and healthier they can make their wives and families happier and live far more years in their midst.

Guess we have to tell them how much we love them and don't want to lose them.

Mmmm..mm.mm..mmm well,

Don't know whether I should say this (but I know it is true)

Sex is much easier and much more enjoyable without the beet gut/big tummy!!!!!!

What they do not know, is that Men lose weight at a greater speed than women. I had Couples in the UK. When the weigh in was done the woman complained that they had eaten the same meals and yet he lost 2 - 3 lbs more than the woman......... it's their metabolism ladies - sorry, can't do anything about that.

Another thing I noticed in the Uk

Was that when men joined, the ladies (sort of) mothered them, making sure that they knew what they were doing, giving them advice - they were in their element.

One of my male members was 3rd in the UK Man of the Year contest.

He was a widower, who wasn't eating since his wife died, so his daughter brought him along (she did not need to join, but joined to get him out and about)

He did fantastic and really got into the plan because he found he could eat all the foods he love - Steak & Chips, Fish & Chips, and loads of other 'easy to prepare' meals.

So them men do really well

It is on the Lapta Strip.

As you drive into Lapta you pass Haci Ali on the right and Veni Vici restaurant on the left,

it is next to Veni Vici on the left so take the openings after Veni Vici.

If you read Message 10, one of our ladies comes from Catalkoy and will offer a lift and she may drive with you so you can follow her car.

Look forward to seeing you.

Is there any chance you could start a club closer to Kyrenia? Unfortunately the drive to lapta would mean we couldnt even do it in our lunch hour. We work in Catalkoy

Go for it Catalkoy people, you can't do anything other than lose weight with SW. I lost a further 7lbs last week and 6 the week before. Sorry the men didn't turn up though. The trifle was really yummy.

Before moving out here in August on a permanent basis I attended Slimming World in Bristol (this was not the first time!!) and lost weight steadily over a couple of months. Needless to say, as I am sure lots of you will agree, as soon as we moved here and I was not being weighed each week the odd biscuit crept back in and then if you have one well two or three wont make any difference but, of course, I know it does, and then here we ago again looking in the wardrobe to find something to wear that will fit. As we now live in Esentepe and if and when Slimming World opens a meeting Catalkoy I would certainly join AGAIN!!

I look forward to seeing you in Catalkoy on the 7th January - Enjoy your Christmas and New Year

Because you know that the class is there and you can get it off again.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and a fab, lighter 2012

Ever had a Quiche without pastry ???

Well now you can

No pastry-= NO FAT !!

Lots of choices for fillings - my favourite is Salmon & Brocolli and the Cheese Onion & Broccoli - FAB !!!

Ever had a Trifle with no sugar

Well now you can

No sugur and NO FAT !!!

Tastes FANTASTIC (yummy!) and ......... you can eat the whole bowl if you wish

This is not a DIET

It is a healthy eating plan which all the family can eat.

Do you like Jacket Potatoes - I like the huge potatoes we get here - No problem, I can eat as many as I like and:

- STILL LOOSE WEIGHT!!!!!

Make your own Baked Beans. Saute onions celery and garlic in fry light until soft. Add a tin of tomatoes tomato puree and a large can of white beans drained. Simmer together for about 10 mins. Add salt and pepper and some thyme and worcester sauce and a little sweetener. I think i am right in saying these a free and would go well the the jacket potato.

I have done it with dried beans but they have to be soaked over night then boiled for quite a while so the canned beans are quicker. I made some humous the other day with a can of chick peas garlic lemon juice and a little yoghurt salt and pepper. Just 1 teaspoon of sesame oil stirred in after blending. It was really good.
