It's December. Each day I find a smug self satisfied mossie on my wall. I chase the b****r till I catch and destroy it. The blood spatter and itchy lumps on my body are evidence of a nights feasting.

For two years I've swallowed brewers yeast tablets daily,(given to understand that these would make me less attractive to biting insects) Vit B also.

Never open a door or window that isn't protected by fly screens. Squash in & out closing doors quickly behind us to avoid flies entering. The dog goes balistic chasing flies and some of them that look like ordinary house flies also bite me.Their bites are even more irritating than the mossie bites.

I've sprayed myself from top to toe with insect repellant, they've then bitten my hand or fingers which have escaped from beneath the duvet during the night.

Is anyone else having this problem or are all the remaining mossies in N Cyprus queueing outside my door?

Don't spray yourself, roblyn! Spray the duvet half an hour before you go to bed - works in our bedroom.

I also use a plug in, but mine looks like a UFO with a cable about 1m long and you put in a little tablet. I have that near my side of the bed and find them very good. Our rooms are 5m² and 3.6m high and they last all night. Raid are one of the companys that make them. They call them Elektro Mat.

Not a problem, just to certain people like me and the originator of the thread. My husband doesn't know what the fuss is about. he does get bitten sometimes when there are lots in the summer, but nothing now

Unfortunately they like me too big time, so I'll pack my potions just in case.

It is a right pain when you are one of the 'bitten' brigade.... they have a liking for me too. I have screens and try to keep them shut at all times. One mozzie bite and you get a weeks scratching!! I always have plenty of spray with me and have the plug-ins for the bedroom too. Seems to work for most of the time.
