| spook my neighbour only this morning was trying to explain that the goverment needed to get kochan out as they need the money in. i think he got this info from the turkish paper? so maybe one of the turkish speakers here, could let us know the full story. |

| An emergency property owners meeting is being held on Wednesday the 10th December 2008 at 12 noon in the Pia Bella Hotel, Girne to discuss the predicament surrounding property purchase, including: non transfer of title deeds borrowing against properties that you have paid for exorbitant interest rates being charged for non-payment of loans risk of eviction due to landowners non-repayment of loans abandoned incomplete properties/sites what happens in Court lawyers negligence Some buyers will give a brief summary of the pitfalls they have endured and what they are doing to find a solution. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in, we all need to support each other. | I will be there. Firstarter the government are well aware they should force the vendors to give out kocans and that way they will rake in thousands of pounds worth of taxes, the problem is they are doing absolutely nothing about it. |

| stevemac where i was coming from is that i think from what i understood the kochan issues were a topic in the turkish paper. i can't read it! but it sounded like they were about to get out some more kochans to people. which can only be good news for those who do not yet have them. |

| Firestarter, I hope to God you're right. The problem is they've known this for so long and done nothing. Are they actually going to do anything about the problem with vendors not giving over the kocans now? Only time will tell, and it's good this is in the Turkish speaking papers, but I'm not holding my breath. |

| the problem is that the vendor has got to part with 6.25% sales tax to the Gov't before the handover process can begin. Just can't see any builder chomping at the bit to pay this.... Nick |
