Tomorrow morning I'm devoting the whole Soul Train radio show to tracks recorded by British Artists. In fairness, there were more artists that I couldn't fit in, so I'll probably include in a future show. Don't let anyone convince you that America has a dominance in this genre, they love the British Soul Singers...

Tracks included tomorrow are :- Moving On Up (M PEOPLE), Outstanding (KENNY THOMAS), Bleeding Love (LEONA LEWIS), It's Only Love (SIMPLY RED), Back To Life (SOUL II SOUL), I'm A Man (SPENCER DAVIS GROUP), Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime (YAZZ), Some Of Your Loving (DUSTY SPRINGFIELD), When Fingers Point (CHRISTIANS), Oh Girl (PAUL YOUNG), This Is The Right Time (LISA STANSFIELD), I Feel Free (CREAM), Give Me A Little More (GABRIELLE), It's Not That Easy (LEMAR), & Ain't No Man (DINA CARROLL).

Hope that you can tune in at 10am on 87.8 or 105FM, or http://www.brtk.net

Hi Max ...just goes to show that if we have to include Cream then UK soul is very, very inferior to the real thing!

Riddles, I only included Cream because of Jack Bruce's soulful vocals, much the same impact as Stevie Winwood from Spencer Davis days. Your right, one can't describe Cream as a soul group, but I put my hands up as it was my choice to include. In fairness their earl stuff was more bluesy.

Joandjelly, I will probably do a similar format early in 2012, and most certainly include tracks by artists that didn't appear today. I really think that Beverley Knight is so underated, and her cover of Emma Franklin's 'Piece of my heart' is oustanding. As well as the three artists you have stated, I will also include numbers by Aleisha Dixon, Amy Winehouse, Chris Farlowe, Craig David, Des'ree, Eternal, Hot Chocolate, Joss Stone, Paul Weller, The Real Thing, Robert Palmer, Ruby Turner, Seal, Shara Nelson & The Foundations.

Thanks For Your Comments & I hope you enjoyed the show

Worth checking out Earl Green & the Right Time, Max....they're currently playing the clubs in the UK. They have a new CD -'Live at Bronte Blues Club'. Listen to his version of Percy Mayfield's 'Danger Zone' ...class!

Hi Max (nothing to do wIth UK soul, really)

It's ten years today since Rufus Thomas died and twelve years on Boxing Day since Curtis did ....any chance of one track from each over the Christmas period?

Thanks

Be nice to see all your pictures so we can put a face to the name of the DJ's on the radio, how about getting Cyprus Today to do a page for you all and with a bit of history of your life.

Unfortunately I've already recorded my Christmas & New Year Shows, but I will definately include both Rufus Thomas & Curtis Mayfield in early 2012. I did play an Impressions track last Saturday, hope you enjoyed that one.

Do you really want to see my ugly mug? Not sure if the Cyprus Today would find me interesting enough to feature a piece on me but you never know. Each year I co-present at least a couple of Motown nights with Mike Schofield for the 112 charity, so at our next event I hope to see you there.
