| Hi just read post about amnesty on visas my husband and I had to return to the uk in august 3weeks before our residency ran out .as it was for urgent hospital treatment we were unable to start our renewal as we are planning to come back next week via larnaca will there be a problem any advice welcome. |

| I should THINK on your return youwill get 90 days during which time you can apply for your residency. If you left before your residency expired then you have nothing to worry about. If anyone knnows more, then please say so, but I am pretty certain when you cross to come here you will be treated as a tourist. It is up toyou to apply for your residency within the time allowed as shown on your entry stamp.
Hope that you are both healthy and ready to face the cold of the winter! I am up to 5 layers of clothing, but it could always be worse. I could be in aa colder climate than this. |

| It used to be nuisance because you had to start from square-one and it didn't count towards your qualification for permanent residency and possible citizenship... now it makes no difference as they moved the goal posts and we don't get it anyway.... no human rights for immigrants... :( |

| Thanks Marion don't need any more probs its freezing here in the uk frosty this morning and we have got central heating and a log burner in cyprus so might be bankrupt after winter but will be warm! |

| I came back in October from the UK - my residency had run out in June. I was given 30 days on crossing and have since renewed with no problems.
