Speak to Vaughan 0533 845 8494.

Are you really interested in measuring electricity consumed or do you want them to pay for it before use i.e. prepaid metres? Vaughan is your man.

I beg to differ. "Meter" is the American form of "Metre".

even my Babylon dictionary agrees with me.

From Babylon:

Metre:

British spelling for meter) basic unit of length in the metric system, one hundred centimeters, 39.37 inches; definite measurement; poetic measure; rhythm (in music); instrument that automatically measures quantities of substances (gas, water, or electricity)

David,

Am I missing something here or have you got it wrong again?

I used the word "metre" which is the British way of spelling. How does that make me American? I am really lost here!!!

Ismet, "metre" in the UK is the distance measurement, whereas the equipment which measures eg electricity consumption is a "meter".

My Wife, who is American, would say "meter" for the distance measurement.

Flipping Yanks!

Honestly not. For me "Metre" is English and "meter" is american, same way as colour and color or recognise and recognize.

I have just checked http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metre and it agrees with you lot, so from now on its electric meter for me too. We live and learn. Thank you and my apologies to everyone.
