What if,Nicos Anastasiades wins the election in February 2013.And offers to form a "Loose federation" in other words,an agreement is agreed with Eroglu. As i understand it,this would mean that Turkey would be guarantor for North Cyprus.Greece would be guarantor for South Cyprus. And the E.U.would oversee, the entirety of Cyprus. And no i havent been drinking,

Paul.

Re: Msg 1,

Eroglu won't agree on a loose federation or any other federation, methinks.

By then we will be 82nd state of Turkey, Eroglu or Turkey will not agree to that nor will Ankara wait after July 1st when Roc takes over as E.U president.

All hopes of peace will go out of the window by the next round of talks in New York and more than likely Eroglu via Ankara will call upon the U.N for a Independence for TRNC.

Re: Msg 3,

Erdogan was anti-European from the day one, so not much of 'turning away' here.

My view is that Turkey could have partition in Cyprus and would have the approval of the Anglo Saxons but she did not simply because Turkey wants to keep control over south Cyprus as well i.e. Turkey does not want south Cyprus to be free to do what she likes in the south like having fussiles against Turkey and now with haydrocarbon finds in the sea south of Cyprus things got even more complicated.
