I'm flying Friday and hope that there will be no remains of the chaos left.

MESSAGE 3

Your theory is right, but afaid Pagasus to me are now forcing people to travel Larnaca. Last week tried to book a flight out the week before christmas and back the 2nd January, price £688. How can you travel Ercan at these rates. Even next summer they are sometimes near £400, Monarch currently £152 to Larnaca next summer. Its a no brainer where to travel to.

Message 4. I agree and when you book extra legroom seats you get them. Pegasus just resell them and you don't find out until you get to the airport! Would have liked to use Ercan but prefer no hassle.

I checked out flights for next year and ended up booking with CyprusAirways, they were cheaper than Monarch or Pegasus. Pegasus was most expensive, followed by Monarch because of all the extras they charge for, so Cy Airways it was.

I would flywith Pegasus, but they only fly to Stansted and as I have to travel to the West Country, that is such al long trek around London. It took our son 3 1/2 hours to take us to Stansted, now it will be 1 hour. This is the first time we are going to England via Larnaca in 11 years. We had no problem with Pegasus, but they do not fly to any airport in the South/West of England.

Just tried my dates again 21st Dec now full so I put in the next day with a return on 2nd January, now coming out at £503 return, still far to much.

Rowlo

We normally travel from Newcastle to Stansted and in the past its been worthwhile to book 6 months in advance, but Pegasus are slowly cranking up the prices for most flights, no competition thats the problem, in my opinion of course. Just thought we would have a last minute xmas in Cyprus but alas prices say its cheaper to go elsewhere.

Problem is when you then start to compare the cost of holidays with flight prices. £20 difference between half board and total flight cost. This simply reinforces just how expensive flights are.
