Advise needed re residency

A friend has to return to the UK in the next couple of days and could be away for anything between 2 and 5 weeks during which time his yearly residency needs to be picked up. Can his wife pick this up for him. I should be grateful if someone could give me an answer. Thank you.

Why not go to the residency office in Lefkosa and explain the situation maybe they can push it through quickly and save himself a fine when he re-enters NC. It has to be worth a try.

He probably won't get a fine if his application is already being processed. They only fine people who have not applied. I am sure this will be confirmed if he rings them or maybe asks at the Police Station?

Sadly no, just because his visa is being processed does not mean he won't be fined, this has changed since last year when you wouldn't get fined

If his residency runs out and he is not here, then he is not in breach of his residency visa. When he comes back he will get a 90 day tourist visa and then he can sort out his residency.....Simples......
