A special at Açmenya Market next Thursday

The market at Açmenya Restaurant is held every Thursday 11am til 3pm.

Nicky who normally organises the market is back from Ireland this week and will be on hand to allocate tables to stallholders and welcome customers as they arrive.



Next Thursday we have two treats for you. We have some sweet treats being cooked and delivered by an international celebrity chef to give free to all customers and stallholders.



And, as promised last week, we will have a celebrity guest appearing who will be singing and serenading and getting you in to the Christmas mood.



All this is in addition to the usual variety of stalls that will be there including local art and craft, hand made garden pots and ornaments, cards, clothes, house wares, perfume, home electrical appliances, gold jewellery, artist paintings and, of course the food - on sale there will be bakewell tarts, mince pies, scones, steak slices, frozen Chinese and Indian meals.



And then there's the special meals from the restaurant.

There's a special market day menu on offer from the restaurant, although you can still order from the usual a la carte menu. And of course the bar is open for business as usual.



The weather was beautiful again last week so the market was outside but if the weather is ever miserable that won't stop us, we can always move indoors so you won't get cold or wet!



Remember stallholders, that tables are still free so now is the time to take advantage of the opportunity to make some money and keep it all to yourself!



And don't forget, this week is our special Christmas celebration week. Our surprise celebrity will be appearing to bring you a sing a long and cheer everyone up.

Not sure which direction you are coming from but basically you need to turn off the main Girne/Alsancak/Lapta road where the golden lady statue is then turn first left and Acmenya is up on the right hand side.

Yes, Scoobydoo, but unless the celebrity is you, it might not appeal to me! I mean, there are celebrities and 'celebrities' and I only like some celebrities, so unless it is a celebrity I like, I would rather go and find a celebrity I do like - assuming it is REALLY a celebrity, and not mickey Mouse again! Or is it you, in which case I will come.

Ok, I can feel the suspense is getting to you Marion. I'll give you a few more hints - the surprise celebrity is a young gentleman currently working the music circuit in North Cyprus. He's a real swooner and sings lots of oldies that get everyone into the singing mood. And his CDs will also be on sale on Thursday for anyone who wants to take his music home with them.

Scobydoo - yes you are! In my eyes. and anyone who buys me a cuppa is DEFINITELY a celebrity.

#and thanks Pippie, but I am such a 'square' that I still have no idea. I don't swoon any more, just as I don't make anyone else swoon, but I will try to come to take a photo of this super swooner. at least if I can with other places to be the same day.

And for anyone who is wondering about coming along, please do. You'll have the free nibbles being cooked I believe as I write, by our Internationally acclaimed guest chef. And I've just heard that Nicky has now arrived back from Ireland and now she's teasing me too that she might just have brought back a surprise celebrity with her.



We'll all have to wait to see tomorrow who it is, but you'll only find out who it is by being there!!



Remember that to take part in the market and have your own stall, just turn up about 10.30am and Nicky will give you a table to use. There's no charge. It's the perfect opportunity too to have a good clear out and earn yourself some money.



And, don't forget you can also earn money for yourself if you have old gold jewellery to sell. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS FOR YOU! Come and see me at Açmenya tomorrow with your old gold and I'll make you an offer and give you CASH there and then.
