Corrupted memory card for phone

I have a Nokia Music express 5800 but the memory card has become corrupted, and all my music, photos and films have gone. Is there any way to recover all this lost data? If there isn't, does anyone know where i can buy a new memory card?

Do not try to format the card yet! Have you tried the memory card in another device?

No i haven't. It's really tiny and i don't have another device that can accomodate it.

You can buy all-format (i.e. SD, Memory Stick etc.) USB connected memory card readers for a PC - they are about 20/30 tl and Com-Aks sell them. Putting your memory card one of these gives you the flexibility of the PC to try and retrieve your missing data. But as DC says - DO NOT REFORMAT.

The (very helpful) people at Com-Aks can check whether your memory card is faulty or not (it may be a - temporary - error in your device!).

If you need to buy a new card: the specs of the memory card are on the card. Show the card at Com-Aks.



P.S. Are your files backed-up to your computer or an external hard drive..?!

Yes, all is backed up, well most of it anyway, so it's no great issue, except i hate working without my talking books....so i need to get this fixed asap. I will go to Com-Aks on Monday.

DD have you tried taking the card out and re-inserting it, also try if not done switching phone off remove battery for 30 secs then try again.

Also have a good look round your laptop the micro sd card reader is quite small.

DD I can not see in my reply to you where I said or implied you had lost your sd card all I was trying to do was give you tips which have helped me in the past, I have used alot of express music 5800 phones and have even given them away.
