Can anyone tell me if there is still a phone number we can ring to check if residency is ready, rather than making the Lefkosa trip unnecessarily,-- if so, what is the number now?

You want to speak with Canan (pronounced Janan). She is on; 03926111022. I rang just after 8am (and also after 3pm). She will ask for the police number which is just inside your passport front cover (very small). She is very helpful.

Canan's number, which we have used for the past three years, was unobtainable in November.

Yes, I aways wonder when people mention this number, because as Deniz1 said,, they only did this to me the first time 6 years ago.

Stella, we are referring to Canan's telephone number at the immigration building, not to any number written in the passport by police. This phone number was given to us a number of years ago so that we could check to see if the procedure was complete before driving to Lefkosa.

The reason I mentioned it was carrieRbag said you had to give that number if you rang them up, and I haven't been given a long time. Changing the subject to a well worn out subject, if anyone is going to immigration, could they ask about the over 60's tihng again.

Msg 6 - Carrierbag rang on 20th Dec and she WAS asked for the number written in her passport and also the number for my son in his. She merely stated what happened then, but it could be all change again. Canan is a most helpful civil servant.
