I would just like a little advice about 3G dongles. Is there a better between the two Turkcell and Telsim?. Me and my missus both have Turkcell phones, which work okay, but what about 3G coverage?. I basically would like opinions on the best for coverage and packages for light/secondary usage. We live in the Karsiyaka area and frequent mainly that area, Lapta & Alsansack. Thanks for any help/opinions. Cheers, Stu.

I use a Turkcell dongle for a couple of years now and have had very few problems in the whole time I have used it. I have used it frequently up in the mountains and all over North Cyprus for me it is very good. Hope this helps .

Yes Thanks Pipie, just what I was wanting to know. ive just bought a 7" tablet and want a reliable signal when out and about. I can use the wifi hotspots, wherever they may be, (Pubs I'm hoping) and the dongle elsewhere. Thanks for the info. Stu.

Same here. Have had a Turkcell 3G dongle for a couple of years. No problems at all and I am in Karsiyaka. I find that 2GB a month (40TL) is enough for me for general internet surfing. If you want to download a lot of stuff then you will need more.

Again Thanks joandjelly. That sounds as much as I will need, just a bit of surfing when out of the house. I take it you just top the sim cards up as you do your phone ones?, ie hos bes etc. Stu.

You need rather more specialist shops for top-up - the nearest to Karsiyaka I found is the Laconic shop about 500 metres past Starling as you head towards Girne.
