Hi, can anyone advise where it's best to go to get info on the importation of a six year old car? I need to find out how much the car would be valued at in this country and what percentage import tax would be required.

Hi Glorybee, i may be wrong on this, but Im fairly certain that a six year old car is too old to import, unless you have owned the car from new. There is a man on the forum called Yorgozlu who is very helpful and very knowlageable. He may be the man to ask. Stu.

How disappointing if this is true, Stu. It is my daughter's car and has only done 32,000 miles. It's in excellent condition. I have seen Yorgozlu's posts before so if you're out there, Yorgozlu, please get in touch as I need your help..... Thanks for your advice, Stu.

Message 2 is right, unless the car has been registered in your name from new then it is too old to import.

Thanks, guys. I guess I'll have to give up the idea. What a shame - too good to be true, I guess....

Importing a car into the TRNC was the most cost ineffective thing I had done, until they stole my villa of course.

Msg 6.....correct you dont need to own from new but must have owned it for the last 5 years to present day. Msg 7.....also right but can be ok on a small engined car that isn't valued at much in the the Glass' Guide.
