Very bad internet service from Nethouse recently !!

We are fed up with our crap service from Nethouse, so we asked them to investigate why our internet service was rubbish lately, they sent a nice bloke 2 days later who borrowed my laptop to check their sevices. He had a stick which he placed into my laptop (usb) and accessed our account details and various other specifications ! I stood alongside him to see what he was up to, yet he was so fast i couldnt see what he was doing (yes i know what a dipstick (me) ) ! I have a degree in electronic engineering but this geezer blew me away (story of my life) ! he checked our connection statistics and adjusted a section of our account from 17 to 23 !!!!! I asked him what he had done but he just did the "shrug" ! its not a lot better now but bareable ! I think they have so much control over our internet performance they could be taking the **** !! Are there any internet experts out there who could explain what they may be up to please as i think they may be milking us !!! regards Barry

Barry my internet in the uk was poor when we returned in November rang Virgin tele support and they talked me through it what you describe sound like they re set the wireless box speeds

Mine had been fine when we went away in sept nobody had done anything then suddenly it needed re resetting

at least they sent a man

my phone is downstairs fixed internet upstairs 15+ times up and down the stairs reading things then re setting on the laptop which had to be wired in upstairs to re set the wireless )
