There is a Turkish company called Ceyo who make good quality shoes and have a shop in Girne. Going into Girne from Lapta direction, their shop is on the left hand side of the road between Jasmine Court and Astro. Sorry I can't be more precise but it's in a block of 3 shops, one of which is a fresh fish shop.

English quality shoes are available at Bayramoglu shoe shop in Lefkosa. The sell Clarks, Loake to my knowledge. The shop is situated next to Vestel electric shop which just off the small roundabout which takes you up to Ledra Palace. if you continue on, you come to Dereboyu.

The shop in Karakum hand made shoes are very expensive, he wanted £400 - £600 for shoes and £800 for boots...! There is a shoe shop opposite the dome he makes shoes in 48 hours and the quote i had from him was £80 in leather which i didnt think was too bad, had a pair made by him before and they were the most comfortable shoes i ever owned. These quotes were last week so pretty much up to date. Did'nt know there was a chap by the Jasmine I must take a look there now before making my mind up. Cheers for the info!

Sylvie I don’t know why you are taking my comment so personally, everyone is entitled to an opinion, I am sure the cobbler was very good in his day, the quality of the uppers was good but the heels were rubbish and the average person can’t afford £800 for a pair of shoes! BTW this is a forum, and as such there will be comments and opinions made that you / I will agree / disagree with...hey ho that's life! Best Regards Miss Michelle

Sylvie Go and look at the samples in his shop, then you may agree about the heels, they were very badly finished, I appreciate they are samples, however samples should be of a good quality, and in my opinion maybe he is getting too old to see his work properly! It was a meer observation & comment but it looks like you have taken it personally, and my original post was also to Slimmer if you go back and read Message 11, this message board is for advice, and I gave my advice, its you that seems too think it was directed at you...now get off your high horse!
