Does anybody know how easy it is to go skiing whilst staying in the North? Would we have to go and stay in the south to do this activity or is travelling there and back feasible? Any input would be appreciated. Many thanks Gaynor

Gaynor, good morning. Yes it is possible to Ski whilst staying in the North. You would have to cross into the South in Nicocia and then I assume, hire a car and then drive to the Troodos. I think there are 3 main areas to Ski, but try this link http://www.skicyprus.com/skicyprus/default.asp There are maps and direction there somewhere. Alternativley, you could always come with us to France at Xmas. Roll on, 7 weeks tomorrow. Steve

Hi Gaynor Some friends of ours have done it - it is approx 1.5 hours from Kyrenia to the resort in the Troodos. We are going to do it at New Year, although I believe the best snow is early Feb.

its quicker to drive to the Bostanci border crossing (Akaki on the south side)near Guzelyurt to go to the Troodos as there is much less traffic. you cant take a hire car rented in the north to the south but you can travel across the border in a Greek rentacar so might be worth flying into the south and renting your car there rather than Ercan if you dont have use of a private car in the north! look here for a map with directions: http://www.msnusers.com/TRNCvillaowners/msgattachments/415
