| Hi Ray, the nearest thing to chorizo here is sucuk sosis, pronounced sujuk. It is usually made from beef and spiced with garlic and pepper, similar to pepperoni. The slightly smoked is considered best. You should first peel off the synthetic casing. The locals fry it with eggs. Usually scrambled. Very tasty. lots of varieties here, a case of try it and see. |

| Agree with BlueButterfly, utterly delicious and does not appear to have so much fat in the local stuff either. We were given a homemade sucuk sosis the other day and it is so much tastier still than the bought and any chorizo I have ever had. |

| I have used the "local" one (mess. 5) in place of chorizo and found it very similar - although I sometimes add a bit of chilli pepper if the recipe calls for something a bit hotter. |
