Thanks Teresa. I have asked the right question about the wrong holiday - I really need to know if there is a holiday period in February. Thanks.

Don't think there's any official bayrams in Feb but the schools are off for two weeks as it's the end of term - my son's is the first two weeks of Feb so the other state schools are probably the same. Actually just checked and Sat 4th Feb is Mevlit Kandili, a religeous holiday, but being a Saturday I don't think it will affect too much.

Hey Smiffy..are you aptly named after the Bash Street Kids guy? As I have commented in the other post.. If you aim to come to TRNC then there are LOTS of sources on the internet to find out this information! The fact Smiffy has been a member for nearly 3 years yet still thinks because it was in Feb last year it should be the same this is amazing! Surely by now he should know about the Islam calendar changing by 10 to 11 days each year.

Mess 11 - none taken Eamonn - should have checked me speeling! Mess 10 - jimchris - had to laugh at your post - great impression of an anal old colonial trying to preserve the integrity of his forum by asking me not to use this medium for honestly requesting information from other members. I am not very well aquainted with the Islamic calender - I admit. If you were born with your knowledge about Islam - fair play, but if you learned that info from elsewhere, be it from a book, a magazine, a web site, a friend, teacher or indeed a forum then well done for having an inquisitive nature and please don't critisise me for having the same. Signing off - an enlightened Smiffy.
