I would like to know if my diary is inadequate. I have Valentine's Day listed and one other, but no Bayrams of any magnitude. What does anyone else better informed than I , know.

Mavlid Al Nabi (celebrates the birth of the prophet Mohammed) on 4th Feb this year, one day holiday as far as I believe.

I looked at the title and I thought TRNC is closing down i.e. packing in

We celebrate all national days and religious days, hence so many days off in a year. The religious holidays are based on the Moslem calendar or whatever it is called and it is 10days shorter, hence every holiday comes ten days earlier than the previous year.

Thanks to elko2 for telling people who live here what they should have the wits to find out without resorting to this forum!

If you aim to come to TRNC then there are LOTS of sources on the internet to find out this information!

The fact Smiffy has been a member for nearly 3 years yet still thinks because it was in Feb last year it should be the same this is amazing! Surely by now he should know about the Islam calendar changing by 10 to 11 days each year.
