| I am a bit naive when it comes to the techno stuff. Can it be this simple? I visited B&Q today and saw a handy portable satellite TV system. Would it operate in Nth Cyprus? |

| Simply No, For countries like UK that has enough population density in certain areas, satellites can have one or more of their transponders focused in such as small area that the signal is strong enough to be picked by a 'portable' received/ Unfortunately, Cyprus neither has the population or the density to be focus of anything. Most of the signals picked up here are second and third tier 'spill overs' of transponders focused at either Europe or Middle East and a bigger than normal satellite dish is required in order to focus enough of the signal for a good reception.
