Tatty As long as the dish is pointing at the right satellite (Eutelsat 3W) you shouldnt have any problems. If you are connceted with a scart lead you do not need to tune any channels, just select AV channel on your TV set.

The French channels are on Astra 19E and Hotbird 13E.. They are all encrypted,so apart from suitable dish antenna you will need smartcard also to view them. Can you call me on Friday?I will search around to get a quote for you. 0533 8610329

French channels on Hotbird require 100cm or so and for Astra about 150cm is enough.

There is no such thing as a good or bad FTA... FTA stands for Free To Air (non encrypted chanels) so FTA boxes are limited with dish size... It all depends on the channels one wishes to watch... While there is not much (English language channels) available for small dish antennas in this part of the world you can watch plenty in western Europe. BBC/ITV/FIVE etc are also FTA channels but they require over 4m dish in Cyprus...
