after promising on the "Tenakoutou' post on the 18th December to find out my blood group in the new year, matters have been taken out of my hands when I actually do it. The new driving licence form (pink) which I picked up today asks for blood group. As I am working tomorrow until 13:00 I assume my only option will be a clinic to have the results back for Thursday. Does anyone know the cost? I have never given blood due to medication I took in the UK therefore concerned I may react and unable to go back to work therefore limits when i could give.

From your post it only seems that you need to get your blood group tested which will only involve taking a drop from you - I don't think this will affect you in any way!

Handy if you have an accident as they will probably put it on your licence. Might save your life.

Yes thought about making it up but rather silly in case in the future someone does go by the details on my licence which of course should be carried while driving. Yes i know a spot won't affect me but trying to go for the cheapest option especially as it is straight after celebrations and payment for the licence as well. Has anyone been tested at a clinic and know the cost?

i think that this is only an option and not compulsory to fill in. of course it is handy to have on your license if you know it. however you need the information in an official capacity so only a card from a clinic will be accept of proof of your blood type. i'm not sure of exact prices but they can vary from clinic to clinic and you could expect to pay anything from 70-100 tl approx. maybe even more if they have increased prices. hope this helps

We've not had to put our blood groups on our licences, so it might be optional. The Erduran lab., on the Bellapais road ( turn right at Bellapais lights and its on the left ) is very good, it might be worth ringing them to check the price.
