Have a vague memory of a book, cannot remember the title, but do remember that the Catholic church excommunicated its author. I think I read this in the 70's - did anyone else ever read it? If I can get the spelling of the author right then I am in with a chance of getting another copy of it. Anyone remember it?

I havee the book somewhere on my untidy shelves. He also wrote another on whose title eludes me, and I have that too. I found it interestinng, and there is much to think on. Not totally fake, and like all other theories worth puting to the test. I think the other one is somethting like 'We are not the first'. anyone else remember?

ah yes. Got that one! Was Jesus a case of 'beam me up Scotty'? (and I am NOT blasphemous) - reading this book could almost infer that He was! But why was this thread started? Message 1 - did you want to read it or want people's opinion on the veracity of it?

as a theologian, I am afraid I cannot believe in Mark Twain in this instance. Or is Mr twain being cleverer than my feeble mind? If it is true that we are all children of the universe then we are gods (in one sense) as well as being one with God, but as god created us from nothing, then maybe we DO believe in nothing.

Msg 12 If you believe in God ...Mark Twain doesn't mean you. (Or rather, didn't)
