Can someone living in north cyprus buy a car from south cyprus and continue using it here in north cyprus?



If possible, what are the required steps to be taken...

To the best of my understanding no you can not unless you import it into the TRNC and have it re registered as a TRNC vehical, like bringing a car into the TRNC from any other coutry.



There are some expecptions to this general rule, but I believe they apply only to TRNC citizens who can show they work in the RoC, then they may get dispensation to use a RoC plated / registered car in the North without having to pay import duties.



I may be wrong about all of this.

If you live in the north and get a car from the south they will impound the car here in the north and escort you to the border and you wont be able to bring it back . Many a people have experienced so dont take a chance.
