You only have to look at Veron £28.5m or Tosic £18m for Man U ...2 monumental bad buys

The FA have issued a new directive. Anybody caught passing the ball to Andy Carroll will be booked for time wasting.

Look at 2 players,... Carroll 35m + 5 year deal on 50k per week total £47m then look at Ashley Young 17m + 130k per week total £48.2m.

There is a major problem with some people buying rather average players in the UK ?

But I have to agree Torres looked sharp yesterday and class is permanant.

Mess 14 Tony. Its a term of endearment used by Manchester United fans to discribe Liverpool F.C and their fans. We in Liverpool call Man u F.C and their fans ' The Scum ' to discribe them.

andy-f must be one of the many "fans" that support Man u from afar because the area surrounding old trafford is an even bigger sh**hole.............. you wouldn't want to walk around that area after dark I can tell yer.

Look, if you don't play to his strengths you'll never get the best out of him & Kenny takes Downing off to bring him on!! Any partnership needs time to develop so do you Reds think that Kenny has given Andy a fair crack of the whip before Suarez was suspended to get to that understanding? Just asking as most of us Toon fans would willingly have him back in place of Shola even though none of us would have put him in the £35 million bracket, but I think that Mr.Abramovic had something to do with that!!

Man, United and Massimo Taibi

Massimo Taibi was bought for 4.5 Millin GBP in 1999, he played four games for Man, U, and conceded 11 goals.

Winston Bogarde and Chelsea

What about Winston Bogarde, he was signed in 2000 and it was he who famously said, Why should I throw fifteen million Euro away when it is already mine? He could not get in the Chelsea team and refused to be transferred . In the end, he only appeared eleven times during his four-year contract, reportedly earning £40,000 a week during this period. Not a bad deal for him!!!

Robinho and Manchester City

How about Robinho he was signed 1 September 2008, in a £32.5m move to Man, City, with wages in the region of £160,000 per week on a four-year deal. Now I don’t consider that a good piece of business either.

Is Andy Carroll Liverpools worst ever buy????

I am not one of his biggest fans but if he were not playing on saturday, who would have been there to head the ball down for Kuyt to score the winning goal against Man u?????????

So, no i dont think he is the worst buy:_)

Liverpool have failed with an audacious swap bid which would have seen them take Carlos Tevez from Manchester City in exchange for Andy Carroll.

Why would L/Pool want a spoilt petulant child who throws his toys out of the pram when he encounters something he does not like?

No good moaning about Liverpool players, Sir Alex is to old now like a lot of his older players should be playing in the championship now.

worst buy - Utd keeper as per loads of punters in pub yesterday. How much?? carroll involved apparently, so was the goalie.

carroll progresses, goalie don't. Also believe Erva messed up for winner - did hear ' what goes around comes around' what ever that is in football talk
