Hi Everyone.

Please keep this thread solely regarding current questions/action re substation.

For all buyers please contact either myself (Martin @ no 14 or Chris @no 4).

The information and actions required are both positive and forward looking and hopefully should allay any fears regarding our site.

Can/John our builder will soon be sending out emails to all buyers explaining his intended actions and requirements. For my own part I see this as positive action to really move our site to completion very early in 2009.

Again, please contact either myself or Chris in order for us all to act together and really get things moving. regards to all... Joseph

My email address: martin.banasko@btinternet.com

Please email me and enclose phone numbers.

Remember this is good news, our builder is honest and is taking positive action to help us all ... so read email with this in mind.

For those interested... there are tilers currently working on site at bungalows 12 and 15 doing floors and roof terraces also their windows are due next week.

Tiling is also being carried out in a number of villas (1-10).

Hi Roy, how r u, well I hope.

I recall Can saying all were English, meaning of course British to be pc

Re substation... we are still waiting for Can's direct/official request to everyone.

Chris is emailing Can this weekend as he had email from him Friday but non too clear... devoid of details etc. Hopefully on this point Can will return his mail?

hi martin

I am pleased to hear that.

It should be easy to arrange monies sent to Creditwest for kibtek supply and connection to villas by nominating three people off the site to open a joint account with Creditwest purely for the purchase of the equipment ,paid by Creditwest on production of an invoice for work which is to be carried out.this money can then be deducted from the final account with Sarioglou properties by each individual purchaser. All we need from Can is the specification and projected cost and devide the total by 16. bearing in mind that the original cantract states that the electrics for the site will not exceed £1000.00

From contract....in addition to the purchase price, the the purchasers agree to pay the cost of connection of the electricity, including the electricity transformer

contribution, the meter deposit and the connection fee up to a maximum of £1000.00-GDP (One Thousand British Pounds) and the cost of the water meter deposit and connection.

Good evening

- Has anyone heard any update from Can or any other source Regarding Cans Turkish Quest to source a sub-station - It all seems to have gone silent again.

Hi Graham and John:

Yes we have had news only recently and one phone call to me will get you updated. Please understand that not everyone on our site is a member of Cypruss44 and some simply do not wish to join... to this end I am not sure it would be right to be submitting updates on this forum. This is a great site for making contacts etc and lively debate on issues (and other topics concerning TRNC but I think it absolutely right that "private business" be conducted as such... privately.

Quite a few members have been in touch with me over the weekend and have been updated to the present time. You are welcome to ring

Kind regards Joseph

Cont:

Now have contact details of all buyers on our site and have put "neighbours" in touch with one another, some for a chat and get to know, others who will be travelling out at the same time, so they can arrange to meet, some who wanted to pick the brains of a neighbour who had gone through a process upon which they where about to embark... for example sending over a container to TRNC.

Hope this helps, regards Joseph

Hi To all at Paradise villas. Its nice to hear that your properties are moving in a positive direction and that most of you and your builder are in communication with each other.

I looked at these villas thae last time i was in TRNC they looked very nice.

Im buying at Palm Bay view and it has been a very long wait. The project is 10 months behind and the developer is ignorant and does not keep us honestly updated!

Enjoy your properties! Good luck!

Hi Graham,

Sorry my fault... I don't think I was too clear with my original post

Of the 14 of us on site there is only a half dozen or so who are members or refer to this site for info specific to paradise villas. As such I thought it best originally to use this forum in order to make contact with everyone etc, and indeed it has been very helpful in so doing.

Now we are in possession of all neighbours details I think it best we get in touch by phone/email directly with each other so no one is left out of the loop.

Sorry if I sounded a little obtuse

We (myself @ 14 and Sandie @ 4) have info regarding current situation re the substation so we can atleast let you know where we are at this moment.

Sandie and I are also co ordinating visiting dates so again we can help each other meet up and keep in contact, either from this end or meet up while out in TRNC. So far we have dates from about 6/7people.

Hope this helps, kind regards Joseph

Hi Everyone:

Spoke to Can on Saturday re updates and also to Roy on Sunday who is currently out in TRNC and living in his villa...

Roy let me know he was sipping a cool beer and enjoying a red sunset and asked how I was getting on shovelling the snow off my drive...

Do you think he was rubbing it in

Roy says two or three workers on site at the moment on plots 3,12 and 15.

Hi Graham, nice to have had another chat last night, stay well.

Regards Joseph.

Thursday February 12th:

Roy rang this afternoon from TRNC to say a large gang of workers arrived on site this morning and have been there throughout the day, also today large machinery has been moved onto the site. Says he is really pleased that Can seems to be pushing hard on getting things done/finished on site. Good news!

Thanks for the encouraging post, still a ways to go but it at least it shows when things get a little bumpy then working together, buyers and their builder, gets a lot more done,or at least in our case moving forward

Hi Clarets... Burnley having a great season... you must be pleased

They were a great team when I was a lad and had an incredible youth policy that even today very few clubs could match. When I was at Everton we had a number of lads from the Blackburn/Burnley area. We also bought some terrific players from Burnley like Newton, Dobson and Buckley if I remember correctly.

I think Jimmy Adamson was your manager in those days... happy memories.

Glad things are coming together in Esentepe, been up to your site a few times, had a beer or two with Alan and Jen, popped in to see them in November but they were out...just the dog barking hello...

Went to check out the pergolas to get a rough idea how they looked, size etc though I think Can has now made a start with these on our place.

The views from your site are superb... bet you can't wait

What number are you in Esentepe, next time I am over I'll pop by and swap a few stories tho it may cost you a beer

Hi Everyone

I spoke to Roy in TRNC this morning. He is a little disappointed because the weather has spoiled any work that could/could not be ongoing, unfortunately it has been really stormy and raining heavily on and off for the last ten days since our last update.

All this rain is good news for the locals ... bad news for builders

Some workmen are on site mainly doing inside jobs, work going on in plots 12 and 15 that he could see and some tilers in one or two of the houses.

Roy returns on the 23rd so I will ring him again Sunday for a final update before he flys back to uk. Have asked Roy to have a chat with Can for any more news; specifically about the transformer and work that he envisages being done on site over the next month or so.

Regards to all, Joseph

Hi Clarets, won't mention the gunners

Our next visit is booked for early June... though I hope go out earlier by myself depending on transformer/substation progress?

When are you out next, if I go before any set visit you have planned and you want anything checking let me know as I usually pop up to Esentepe to say hi to Alan and Jen... if I catch them in

Hi All,

Rob... plot 15... arrived back from TRNC yesterday and rang me today.

He verified Roy's statement re really poor weather and the fact it made work outside very difficult. Rob confirmed there was only minimal amount of work currently being carried out on site.

Re plots 3 and 10 who asked Rob to check out specific points re their build please give Rob or I a ring and we can give you the answers you needed

Hi Everyone...

Not a lot to report at present, hopefully Can will have good news re transformer soon

Roy popped in to see us last week as he was driving up from Cambridge to visit his brother in Scotland, stayed one night and then called in for a break on his way back a few days later. As you can imagine we had a good natter.

Roy hopes to be out in Cyprus some time between the middle and end of March and Rob is definately going out about 29th of the same. Chris and Phil will also be in TRNC from the middle of this month, so any questions re particular builds get in touch and they can be passed on.

Lets hope as the weather improves so will the news

Take care, regards Joseph.

Postscript...

Derek rang me at the weekend with some questions about banking.

I was able to give him the personal email of CreditWest Bank's area manager in North Cyprus. Last year when looking into opening a bank account so I would have something in place re direct debits etc this bank was recommended to me. I emailed them and this chap came and visited us at our hotel and answered all our questions.

First time in my life I have ever had an interview with a bank manager sat round a pool having a coffee and enjoying the sunshine

We had an hour or so of chat and I was quite happy to go ahead with accounts. He offered to take me to their branch in Chatalkoy... on the main road out of Girne heading towards Paradise Villas... and did all the paperwork etc while I sat there having a tea. 20 minutes all done. Really helpful staff and all English speaking.

Anyway if anyone wants similar details give me a ring/email.

Hope this helps

HI

returned from barcheli on the 8th and returning to bartcheli on the 23rd April.

Some work is going on in various properties but it is very slow.

I have now had my drive paved and all I need now is for Can to finish my pool and I am ready for summer that is of course if the electric arrives, despite request for sight of invoice for transformer ,nothing.

I have heard that the cables are about to be put in groundthis will mean at least the site can be filled in and block paving can be laid to all properties.

I am interested in any person that has a car and is returning home to the UK.I have brand new Toyota Rav4 XTR which I would consider swapping for a similar vehical in Cyprus,at the time of purchase I understood that customs used glasses guide to value the cars but the law changed and they now work it out on weight I was told at the customs that it would be 14k to import so I will leave it in my garage, I am only interested in cyprus reg cars and condition

I returned from TRNC on the 8th so I was at home when I phoned you ,I return on the 23rd next thurs and am looking forward to having my brekki on the terrace at no 11 .

It will be nice not having to step out of car into mud,my pool motors are in and waiting for connection which I hope will be soon also the builders have filled all the settlement cracks which has tarted the place up. they really are great place to live in once finished.

Whats happened to Can, has he decided to stay in UK as an illegal, cannot contact him, anybody know?.........

Hi Everyone...

Just a quick thank you for all your kind wishes after the death of my sister last month.

I am now back from the US and pretty well up to speed... I think.

I spoke to Can last week re updates etc and he promised to get back to me soon with hopefully good news.

I was a little bog eyed when I spoke to him as I had to go over to Dublin the day after I returned from America and have to admit I think I was half asleep. Anyway... hopefully I will contact him this coming weekend?

Rang Rob yestertday, who is in TRNC, Rob confirms things are pretty slow but at least he was able to confirm that pretty well all driveways to the villas have now been laid and are finished. Rob will will try to do a house by house check list this weekend so anyone wanting a particular villa checking out just ring me at home... or Rob in TRNC.

I will be going out early June so again anything you need checking etc just ring me.

Hope this helps, keep smiling, regards Joseph

Hi Everyone...

By now all neighbours will have had an email off Can re good news of passing of substation specs etc

Myself Rob and Roy had meetings with Can and Os in June in TRNC re substation and issues pertaining to site and I think most everyone who rang me for updates after I returned home are now aware of prospective future plans. Anyone not sure or wanting details please ring myself or Sandie.

Hi Graham, expect to be going out late Sept so give me a ring and let me know what pics etc you want, unfortunately you posted the above request the day after I left... ring anyway for current update as things have moved a little since you rang last month

Hi Janjin, give me a bell and I can bring you up to speed re above?

Joseph et al.

Keep the faith, you will get there in the end.

Keep on working with Can as opposed to against him.

Take care all.

I now have everyone's departure and return dates. Will get in touch prior to leaving.

Will ring everyone once we are all there. Also to anyone not having my trnc mobile number please email me and I will send my number by return

Hi AJ, yes slow but sure we are making progress and continue to talk with Can and have meetings etc and as you say keep the faith, thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

Hi Joseph and roblorob

Will not be out to Cyprus now untill late Sept/Oct ,I go back to hospital 19th August to have Iron work relaced in femur so I will have to give up any Ideas about belly dancing or tap or footie.

Have the goats finished off my plants Rob?

Still no clear news as to when electrics will be put in hand Martin? I read you previouse post that the tenders had been received and one has been selected, but still no date for completion.

Choccy bis were lovely thanks Chris

Hi Roy et al...

Myself and Rob have been working hard behind the scenes and I did speak to Can this evening, he is at this moment in time in London and will be there for a couple of weeks yet.

Oz is currently in Turkey but Can tells me he will be back in TRNC from Monday and expects final email draft re substation to be sent out to all site members shortly thereafter.

Meanwhile Roy, concentrate on getting well and pass on regards to Carol, our thoughts are with you

All info re substation will be encompassed within said email so things are moving... slowly.

Hope this helps, anyone wanting further details feel free to ring me?

Regards to all... Joseph
