Now available in Bell Foods at Karaoglanoglu there is a variety of hams imported from England. There are currently 1 type smoked and 4 unsmoked in 200g packs. All are 12tl each. The recently improved recipe of a selection of English style sliced bread locally baked is always available if you fancy a nice ham sandwich.

I do already buy sliced bread (for toast) from Bells. It is the closest you will ever get and I think is good value. I did not know though about the ham, however, if it is frozen then I would not buy it because there is a lot of water in ham due to its being boiled before roasting and then subsequent freezing seems to change it to a slightly rubbery texture. If not frozen then I will be there to buy it for the 'old man' who stands ready with the Colman's mustard pot! Personally I would not eat it as I have been a 'veggie' for 40+ years.

Please spill the beans then Hippo. How do you make you're own ham, or should I not ask?

The ham is frozen but is still tasty and doesn't have the rubbery texture. Regulations prevent the import of any fresh ie. unfrozen meats unfortunately.
