Please be informed that electricity will appear today by 20-00 p.m. and will not be cut off.

The Government made a decision on that today afternoon.

Like in the 70s in GB! The unions ruined themselves then, so its on the cards now that the unions in NC will ruin themselves and many others with their stupidity ...

Yep also here in Karsiyaka. Off for 22 hours, on for 2, then off again. Marvellous (not).

As far as heard, government is planning to take over the power plant with the help of police and some 'imported' technicians.

Alsancak has been on and off since 4.00pm yesterday afternoon. Came on in the early hours of this morning, went off again at about 6.00am . On again just after 1.00pm and off again 3.30pm. Working off Battery at the moment.

All very well to say, as someone mentioned" what about the Blitz in UK" - that was 75 years ago +-

different scenario.

As per my opther post:

Apparently workers from Turkey came over to man the Esentepe plant, the Cypriot workers beat them up and some were hospitalised.

Army and riot police...hundreds of them... have now moved in to safeguard the Turkish workers. However it will take 2 to 3 dyas for them to get the plant running again as the Cypriots sabotaged one part of the plant.

We are currently getting electricity from the Famagusta plant, so don't be surprised if you are on and off all the time until the Esentepe one is fully functional again.

And as a matter of interest, I have been told that the area around the plant where most of the workers live has had almost no cuts...wouldn't surprise me.

As per a previous thread, I would recommend all private enterprises to refuse to serve any Kibtek workers or their families!!! No food, no mobile phone, no shopping, no vet, in fact nothing from the private sector at all!
