If this had been a TV sketch show by Little Britain or Catherine Tate it would have been hailed as brilliant, so why all the fuss.

do you let your kids watch programes like that . You should be ashamed of yourself. I agree about teaching your kids the right way and not letting them see crap like that on the tv

Batter I agree that it would not have been highlighted in the way it has but if it was in Little Britain (and there is much of the Vicki Pollard about this skit) then people might have understood that it was comedy... When you give children something based on the country's predominant religious creed to play, to then try to dumb it down in this way is patronising in the extreme. I'm sure the drama teacher or whoever thought this up did so thinking that they would make the story funny and accessible to the class and for that at least you have to give them some measure of credit... Teachers are encouraged to try to engage their pupils and bring the subject matter alive. But this is so poor it really is not up to scrutiny on any level other than the lowest... I'm sure David Walliams and Matt Lucas would have made it much funnier...

I don't remember even saying I had any kids. I have seen plenty of school nativity plays brought up to date in an attempt to engage kids and put across a message, I don't see this as any different really. I think the objection here is because it's done in a chav style, this is simply chavvist.

It`s just a modern day twist on when Jesus turned water into wine. The local school here did goldilocks and the three gangsters.

Possibly because people of the muslim faith are proud of their faith where people of the Christian faith sometimes feel they have to apologise for their beliefs for fear of ridicule, which leaves them wide open to just that. I must say that if my children had been pupils at this school I would not have been impressed at the content of this, we should be teaching our young people respect and tolerance of others religious beliefs whatever they are.

No 1, Who knows, if there had been a little more respect, tolerance and understanding of other peoples beliefs over the years there may have been a few less wars. As Dave Alan used to say, May your God go with you, whoever he may be.

In 2004 Madame Tussauds used waxworks of David and Victoria Beckham to portray Mary & Joseph in a nativity scene. Now that is disrespecful.

Muslims will object to disrespect to Christ, as a sainted prophet, I am told and they have done so when Christians have sat back & said nothing. Go back a few hundred years & you would find no tolerance at all for this kind of thing, in Christianity, so what does it tell us about our attitudes? Are we just more relaxed, or just irreverent?
